Apr-Jun: Music & Painting

Visual art is an emergence from its larger cultural environment, and ideas in these times and places transcend types of expression. Explore this concept by visiting iconic paintings in the Museum’s collection and listening to music from the respective eras in which they were made. Considering them together, we will ponder whether music and art might share affinities, and how such combinations may expand our understanding of broader cultural movements.

Gather at the main entrance for a 45- to 60-minute tour.

This tour will be visiting galleries 5, 6, 8, and 27.

Tours are free to join with museum admission.

Subject to group size restrictions and gallery occupancy limits. Due to unpredictable COVID conditions, tours are subject to last-minute cancellation.
