See the new exhibition Abstract Expressionism: Looking East from the Far West and kids can make their own abstract art!

Part of Abstract Expressionism Public Programs.

Entertainment and art activities end at 3pm.


Kids will make their own enchanting garden tree sculptures inspired by the works of Satoru Abe.

Kids will use colored paper to design and create a collage similar to works by Harry Tsuchidana.


GYPSY 808: 11:45am-12:15pm. We welcome back the guys from Gypsy 808. Listen to group of talented musicians play tunes inspired by jazz music on the 1930s.

JAMAREK: 12:45-1:30pm. Get ready to move with African and Latin-inspired music by Jamarek! Their music is meant to inspire dance, movement and to further their "peace only" mission.


Kid Flix 2017• Part 111:10am + 1pm • Free. See selected shorts from this past year’s New York International Children’s Film Festival.


Open to kids age 1 to 17, the contest station features drawing supplies where participants create a drawing based on a theme. 

The winner receives a Supporting Membership to the Honolulu Museum of Art ($100 value), and his or her artwork is used to create the following month’s event brochure and is posted on the museum's website.
