Based on the Bengali short story Kabuliwala by Rabindranath Tagore, Bioscopewala follows Mini (Gitanjali Thapa), who travels back to Kolkata from living abroad after the sudden death of her estranged father. While trying to find more answers on what her father had been doing, she starts to learn more about his friend, Rehmat Khan (Danny Denzongpa), who used to play bioscope shows for her and other children in their neighborhood. With rich imagery and music, director Deb Medhekar’s debut feature is sure to tug at the heartstrings.
