The Lending Collection will be closed on November 28, December 22-27, and January 1-7.
Location
The Lending Collection is located in the basement of the Honolulu Museum of Art School at 1111 Victoria St., between Beretania and Young streets.
Parking
Parking is available behind the Honolulu Museum of Art School, 1111 Victoria Street. The rate is $6 for the first 5 hours. Card only. For quick pick-ups and drop-offs, there is a 15-minute grace period.

Borrowing from Lending Collection
What is it
The Lending Collection is a free resource for educators across the state, offering thousands of examples of art and material culture from around the world, from Dutch clogs to Micronesian stick charts used for navigation.
Who may borrow
- K-12 school and homeschool teachers
- University instructors
- Librarians and coordinators for nonprofit organizations
How it works
Come by and browse the stacks or have us personalize a loan for you. Select up to twelve objects to borrow for up to two weeks.
Neighbor Island educators enjoy free round-trip shipping and a loan period of one month. (We encourage sharing use of the objects with fellow teachers).
Lending Collection objects can support lessons in
- appreciating the cultures and histories of our diverse communities

- investigating the movement of people, goods, and ideas
- exploring the interaction between people and the environment
