Samuel H. Kress (1863–1955) was a businessman and collector of primarily Italian Renaissance works who gifted portions of his collection to regional and academic art museums throughout the United States. The Honolulu Museum of Art’s collection, established in 1961, features 16 paintings dating from the early 14th century to the late 18th century.
