About the internship

Ipu Kāʻeo is a part-time (up to 19 hours per week), paid internship guiding individuals through a workplace-based experience in their prospective career field, such as Curatorial, Collections, Operations, and Library Sciences.

Museum departments create project plans, tasks, and learning objectives for each internship, and interns are assigned a mentor with whom they work closely. Interns will learn best practices and applicable skills in their field. Please refer to the job postings for details on the upcoming cohort.

All applicants must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. without employer-based sponsorship. If hired, interns must complete Form 1-9 Employment Eligibility Verification prior to employment start date. HoMA participates in an E-Verify program.

How to apply

Internship applications must be completed through HoMA’s online Career Center

Submissions made outside of this platform will not be considered.

Each internship description includes the specific requirements and qualifications needed. The museum may request a cover letter and résumé from applicants.  Applicants will receive an email confirmation after submitting the online application and uploading required materials.

Application review

The interview process may begin any time after the application is submitted. If selected, applicants will be contacted by HoMA via email or phone for an interview with the internship mentor.
