The documentary film Luther: Never Too Much chronicles the story of vocal virtuoso Luther Vandross. Using a wealth of rarely seen archives, Luther tells his own story with assistance from his closest friends and musical collaborators including Mariah Carey, Dionne Warwick, Valerie Simpson, and Roberta Flack. The film relives the many stunning moments of Luther’s musical career, while exploring his personal life, health struggles, and a lifelong battle to earn the respect his music deserved.

Thursday, February 6 at 6pm
The festival kicks off with a dinner reception in the Luce Pavilion with dinner by chef Lamont Brown of Maya’s Tapas and Wines, live music by saxophonist Jason Gay and friends, and a cash bar. Luther: Never Too Much screens at 7:30pm.
