Arrangiarsi (pizza... and the art of living) chronicles American filmmaker Matteo Troncone’s journey in search of the secret of Naples’ pizza—and his roots—in Naples, where he discovers “arrangiarsi”—the art of making something out of nothing. Only the Italians have a common verb for this art form and Neapolitans are known throughout the country as being the masters. The film explores each element of Neapolitan pizza—the tomato, wheat and olive harvests, as well as Italy’s only organic buffalo mozzarella farm. In addition to each ingredient, the film examines the skill of the pizzaiolo (pizza-maker) and reveals their secrets.
Special guest: Director Matteo Troncone will introduce Arrangiarsi via a filmed introduction and then lead a post-screening video chat Q&A.
Admission includes a pre-screening reception with pizza courtesy of Brick Fire Tavern, a no-host bar, and live music. Menu to be announced.
