Photography and Works on Paper

The museum’s wide-ranging works on paper collection features approximately 16,350 drawings, prints, watercolors, collages, and mixed media objects spanning more than 500 years.  The collection includes drawings and prints by Renaissance masters Albrecht Dürer, Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi, and Rembrandt van Rijn as well as works by Enlightenment artists Giovanni Battista Piranesi and Francisco Goya; Impressionists Mary Cassatt and Auguste Renoir; modernists Pablo Picasso and Agnes Martin; and contemporary artists Edgar Heap of Birds, Kara Walker, and Andy Warhol.  
 
HoMA’s extensive photography collection numbers over 1,600 works and contains modern and contemporary innovators such as Man Ray, Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Diane Arbus, Catherine Opie, and Thomas Struth.
