Chiaki Ajioka

AJIOKA Chiaki is an independent scholar and Japanese art consultant based in NSW, Australia. She received her MA in Fine Arts from the University of Melbourne and PhD in Art History from the Australian National University, and she worked as curator of Japanese art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney. She specializes in modern Japanese prints and crafts and has published several articles on those subjects. She curated HANGA: Japanese modern prints (AGNSW 2000) and co-curated Japan in Sydney: Professor Sadler & Modernism 1920–1930s (University Art Gallery, The University of Sydney, 2011). She has collaborated with Professor Kuwahara Noriko on essays about modern Japanese prints since 2000.
