Discover how Onchi Kōshirō's work encourages you to think beyond traditional narratives and see prints not just as images, but as ideas. HoMA Curator of Japanese Art Stephen Salel and scholars of modern Japanese prints Kuwahara Noriko, Ajioka Chiaki, and Elias Martin will discuss the staggering art historical impact of Onchi Kōshirō and his modernization of Japanese printmaking.

Salel, Kuwahara, Ajioka, and Martin collaborated on the exhibition Lyrically Rebellious: The Prints of Onchi Kōshirō and its accompanying catalogue, which is the first extended publication on the artist in English publication. The evening will include a book signing by the four authors; copies of the catalogue will be available for purchase.

Included with general admission, registration required.
