Robert Allerton Library

The Robert Allerton Art Library at HoMA is an invaluable resource for museum visitors, members, art collectors, and students. HoMA is the state’s premier source of art information. With a collection of over 55,000 books and periodicals, biographical files, and auction catalogues dating to the beginning of the 20th century, the Allerton Art Library plays an integral role in HoMA’s mission:  To create relevant and transformative experiences through the study, preservation, presentation and creation of art.

 

With a collection of some 55,000 books and periodicals, extensive biographical files on artists of Hawai’i and elsewhere, and auction catalogues dating to the beginning of the 20th century, the library is the state’s premier source of art information.

Online Catalog: To browse the library’s collection, as well as our special collections, such as the Richard LaneHiroko Ikeda, and Azabu Collections, search the library catalog. For further information and to make appointments, please email library@honolulumuseum.org. The online library catalog has been made available with generous support from the Robert F. Lange Foundation.
