June 2022 Shangri La tours ticket release

Tickets for the first, fourth, and fifth week of June will be released on Thursday, May 5th at 10am HST.

Tickets for the second and third week of June (June 9-18) will be released on Thursday, May 19th at 10am HST.

Visiting Shangri La

Reservations are required to visit the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design. Through a partnership with the Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA), tours are offered Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, begin and end at HoMA, and include same day admission to HoMA. Each tour reservation is a 75-minute self-guided exploration of Shangri La with controlled access to the grounds. Admission to HoMA will be automatically added to your cart during check-out.

Visitors are required to follow all Visitor & Safety policies for the duration of their tour of Shangri La and visit to HoMA.

Please note tickets for June 9–18, 2022 Shangri La tours will be greyed out and listed as unavailable prior to the ticket release time. To view ticket availability please be sure to refresh the webpage no earlier than 10am.


First Saturday Kama‘āina Tours

We offer $5 tours to Hawai‘i residents, students, and active-duty military on the first Saturday of every month!

Tickets for the Shangri La tour are released on the first Thursday of the month prior to the tour at 10am HST.


What to Expect


Book a Tour

Reservations are required to visit Shangri La. Tour reservations can be made online in advance.

Arrive at HoMA

Your tour reservation includes shuttle transportation to Shangri La from the Honolulu Museum of Art. Individual access to Shangri La is not allowed.

Check-in at HoMA begins at the designated tour times, 15 minutes before the shuttle departs.


Shuttle to Shangri La

Relax and enjoy the sights of Honolulu on a short 20-minute ride.


Experiencing Shangri La

Self-guided tours allow you to explore the museum and landscape at your own pace.


Return to HoMA

At the conclusion of your tour, return to HoMA on the shuttle, and enjoy the grounds and galleries with your complimentary admission.

Stop by the HoMA Shop for exclusive Shangri La merchandise and books, or visit the HoMA Cafe and Coffee Bar for lunch or refreshments.
