The Summit of Mount Fuji

Cumulative foothills rise steeply to the peak of Mt. Fuji, as from a low vantage point. Nestled into foliage is torii, small pavillions. Brushwork suggets painting was done after paper was folded.Inscription on right: On the 20th day of July, 1920 (8th year of Taisho) Mr. Masahiro, Master of the Tiger House, climbed Fuji Mountain alone. After two days, he came back and gave me some "golden bright" water (snow) which he brough from the peak. I prepared this water into ink and used it to paint this picture of the top section of Fuji; nevertheless, it is only suggestive scenery.. On the 25th day of the same month, I recorded this anecdote."
