About this Class:

This lecture aims to familiarize the student with current practices in the Middle East and how Art is affected by current political situations. The changes that occurred in the art world since the Arab Spring, ongoing Iranian protests and the lingering war in Syria have caused a ripple-effect of migration and political repercussions throughout the world. The lecture will look closely at main causes of instability and how art has found a strong presence amidst it all. This PowerPoint lecture will last for approximately an hour and ten minutes followed by a discussion and snacks.

Supplies Needed: Notebook and pen
