About this Class:
Learn the basic steps of natural dyeing and mordanting. We’ll show you a simpler eco-friendly technique using what is available in our homes and backyard.
This workshop is designed for dyers, textile enthusiasts and anyone interested in how to scavenge and use natural raw material artistically. In this workshop, we’ll show you how to produce color from the plants around us. We will dye small samples of color on cotton combined with different concentrations of two mordants. A discussion will follow on how to use naturally produced color in painting, apparel and other textile products. We hope to encourage you to step outside and be inspired to create natural dye from what you see around you!
